This massive residential project was groundbreaking in the world of 3D printing poly-grout. It is the first-ever closed multi-piece installation. After several months of design work and engineering, the Hopkins Bench was printed with 27 pieces over 3 days. In collaboration with architect Matt Thomas of The Green Room Collaborative and the 180° installation crew, Pikus is honored to have been a part of this adventure. Along with the Hopkins Bench, two massive water features were installed on the project site: the Hopkins Canoe and the Hopkins Water Wall. Each 3D-printed installation has a unique backstory that centers around the house resident and his personal journey. Inspiration was taken from the native land that surrounds the home of the installation while the natural curves built into the designs bring a unique flow to the site.
